It strikes me as funny that my inspiration joy passion right now is creating travel journals, and yet I don’t really like to travel. I read the fortune above last night and immediately thought yeah right through my journals maybe.
When I say I don’t like to travel, let me clarify. I love exploring new places or getting away for quiet relaxation – for a few days at a time. But then I itch to be home. It’s partly because I miss my animals deeply when I’m away. They own my heart [don’t tell my husband, he thinks he does]. But mostly it’s just that I am a homebody. I love being home. Even now when our home is a tiny apartment that I still haven’t completely settled into, I’d rather be here than out roaming around strange places.
My husband and I have talked about visiting Scotland – taking some time to explore Edinburgh where he was born, head over to Germany, maybe one day see Italy or France. But invariably my first thought is two weeks or more away from home?! No way! How about Yosemite or Seattle or New Orleans instead? A short plane ride or a long drive, a few days. And then back home. That’s much more suiting for me.
I know some of you may say that’s crazy! Where’s your sense of adventure?! And I completely understand. But to that I say, you go. Take pictures. Write about it on your blog. I’ll make you a travel journal. And I’ll read all about your trip. From the comfort of my own home.
